Chatfield Food Shelf (visit their website here for current hours): open to all Chatfield residents, no income requirement (proof of residency required); distributions of 15# per person/per month of staples of canned food; once per week for perishables; seasonal items such as winter clothing. This is also a NAPS distribution site. NAPS are the Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors (NAPS). The program provides a nutritionally balanced food package on a monthly basis to income eligible Minnesota men and women 60 years of age or older. SEMCAC Meals on Wheels (visit their website here for more info): Available to anyone age 60 and over and who is confined to their home or unable to prepare a balanced meal. Spouses are automatically included regardless of age. Meals are prepared at Chosen Valley Care Center and delivered by volunteers on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (double portions on Thursdays to cover the weekends). There is no charge for meals but recipients are able to donate if they prefer. To sign up for Meals on Wheels and you live in Fillmore County: call 507-325-2313; in Olmsted County: call 507-867-4220.
